Craig Pollock, former BAR founder and manager of Jacques Villeneuve, is planning a return to the sport's premier category as boss of a new engine manufacturer.

There was a shakeup in the engineering department of Williams F1 today, with technical director Sam Michael and chief aerodynamicist Jon Tomlinson resigning from the team, as the Grove operation announced on Tuesday the appointment of Mike Coughlan as Chief Engineer.

Bahrain's deadline for declaring itself capable of hosting this season's grand prix, which originally expired on May 1, has been extended until June 3.
