Lewis Hamilton dominated qualifying at the new Yas Island circuit in Abu Dhabi. The McLaren-Mercedes driver used his KERS system to great effect to snatch pole in the final moments of the qualifying session.

US F1 Team announced today that MotorLand Aragon, an 865-acre motorsports complex located in the northern part of Spain in the town of Alcaniz, has been selected as the team's European base.

Williams does a deal with Qatar
Williams F1 and the Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP) have signed an agreement to inaugurate the Williams Technology Centre (WTC).

Selling Renault
There has been talk for a while now that Renault is planning to fund its Formula 1 team next year by selling a shareholding in the organisation, perhaps with an option for the buyer to take completely control of the team in 2013.

Todt is FIA President
Jean Todt has been elected President of the FIA, succeeding Max Mosley. The result was 135 votes for Todt and 49 votes from Ari Vatanen.
