More details have emerged about Tomas Enge's injuries from his accident on Saturday night at St Petersburg in Florida. The Czech former F1 driver suffered no burns, nor head injuries but has a badly broken elbow, a series of cracked ribs and a partially collapsed lung.

Things are beginning to get more serious for the American open-wheeler championships with the Tampa Tribune reporting that Panther Racing boss John Barnes has floated the idea of the Indy Racing League becoming a support event for the NASCAR Nextel Cup.

Former F1 driver Tomas Enge had a big accident during Saturday evening's American Le Mans Series race on the streets of St Petersburg, in Florida. Enge was driving a Petersen Motorsports/White Lightning Ferrari 430 GT and leading his class when he went off at Turn Four.

Today is April 1 and the gullible out there will be shocked to hear that Formula 1 is being split into two categories now that McLaren has acquired Williams.
