Edging towards a deal

Sunday morning in Indianapolis witnessed the Formula 1 engine manufacturers finishing off the details of what is called the Indianapolis Proposal, a new attempt to solve the current problems with the FIA over the plans to freeze engines.

Hamilton and Green to run for McLaren

McLaren is to a test with Lewis Hamilton and Jamie Green in Spain next week, filming for an advertisement which will be used next year.

A year ago Michael Schumacher dominated the United States Grand Prix at Indianapolis. There were only five other cars in the race and the crowds quite rightly got rather uppity about that. But the crowds were back this year and so was Michael.

A deadline passes

The FIA and the Formula 1 teams did not manage to find a solution to the engine discussions about 2008 before the deadline of June 30. Thus in theory the rules are now set unless there is unanimous agreement to change them.

Team bosses discuss calendar

The Formula 1 team bosses gathered on Saturday morning at Indianapolis to discuss the plans for the 2007 Formula 1 calendar. The big question at the moment is what happens at the start of the year as this year's calendar worked very well and increased the viewing figures.

Practice 3 Report - Michael and Massa at the front

The practice sessions for the United States Grand Prix continued with a decent crowd at the speedway and Ferrari coming to the fore with Michael Schumacher and Felipe Massa dominating the times, a second clear of the rest.
